[ Music ] I'm of mixed ethnic background, and of course it's much more comfortable when you feel that you're like somebody. And so when I came to Cal State San Bernardino many, many years ago to interview, I realized that I felt like I was at home. I felt like I was coming to a place where I could slip right in. And I've got to tell you, that made progressing through the work I do here, both for professional work as well as teaching, easier. In the classroom here at Cal State San Bernardino, you walk in and you see people of every type. We talk about, say ethnic diversity, but also diversity in terms of age. We have young people and we have nontraditional students coming back. We have men; we have women. We're a Hispanic-serving institution. And we are seeking to send the diverse people out into the workforce. The workforce in Southern California, in the Inland Empire in the state of California is diverse. So our students are already experiencing in the classroom what they'll experience when they graduate and when they move into the workforce. [ Music ] [ Coyote Howl ]
