Ryan Keating, associate professor of history, speaks at the Yellow Ribbon Day Campaign held during CSUSB’s Armed Forces Day on May 15.

University students, faculty and staff decorated trees on the lawn in front of the John M. Pfau Library. Each tree had a large yellow ribbon wrapped around its trunk, with smaller ribbons attached representing the number of deployed service members the tree represented, with the name of the sponsor.

The ribbons displayed on campus during the “Tie a Yellow Ribbon Campaign” are a reminder that soldiers, Marines, sailors and airmen are deployed around the world, and their loved ones await their safe return.

The event was organized by the CSUSB Veterans Success Center.
