Called the Golden Grads, the alumni joined the university for a series of events on Sept. 15 and 16, including CSUSB’s annual Convocation to celebrate the beginning of the 2019-20 academic year.

This year’s Golden Grads are:

  • Linda Bennecke, sociology with ethnic emphasis;
  • Pete Carrasco, Spanish, elementary education;
  • Charles Funk, English;
  • Linda Grover, sociology;
  • Steve Higbee, history;
  • Jane Still Jeffers, English;
  • Stephen Kelly, history, educational administration;

On Sept. 15, the Golden Grads attended a special luncheon in the Santos Manuel Student Union, where each alumnus was officially inducted as a member of the university’s Golden Grads Society. Following the gathering on campus, the Golden Grads and CSUSB retirees were invited to a meetup at Nonna’s Italian Restaraut in San Bernardino.

The following day, Sept. 16, the Golden Grads enjoyed a breakfast in the Coussoulis Arena lobby, and then joined the CSUSB campus community for the annual Convocation celebration in the arena. The rest of the day included a campus tour and a Convocation reception at the Santos Manuel Student Union Events Center.
